I'm a literary historian, working on popular fiction and print media in Britain in the twentieth century. I'm interested in the voices that don't get heard and the areas of research that haven't been worked on much, especially in combination. At the moment, I'm working on politically conservative novelists, and (separately) the depiction of people with physical impairments. I've never heard of Galaga: I thought Carr's book on why the internet is changing the way we think was far too long, and very superficial, but would have been more successful as a long piece of journalism; I don't pay any attention to Zizek. I podcast on www.reallylikethis book.com, and blog on http://vulpeslibris.wordpress.com/.
